Generation of planar PhC projections was validated by a comparison against data from literature. Experimental work, performed at ID17, ESRF showed a good correlation between simulated and experimental images. Evaluation of the PhC tomosynthesis algorithms was done subjectively, with the help of Medical Doctors from University Hospital of Varna, by comparing PhC tomosynthesis images and such obtained in absorption mode. Various figures of merit were also used to objectively assess the effect of the Phase Contrast on the tomosynthesis slices and tune the reconstruction algorithms. |
