Specialty “ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND SEA PRESERVATION TECHNOLOGIES (EPSPT)”
Study in specialty “Environmental Protection and Sea Preservation Technologies (EPSPT)” – in "Bachelor" degree aims at preparing qualified specialists in the field of conservation, restoration and regeneration of the environment, environmentally sound use of natural resources and sustainable exploitation of marine resources and sustainable development at the local, regional and national levels.
Training provides knowledge and skills to perform the following activitie:
- Operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities;
- Work with measuring equipment to control environmental parameters;
- Environmental management and implementation of environmentally sound use of nature resources, conservation, restoration and reproduction of the environment and marine resources;
- Monitoring, control and analysis of water, air, soil, ecosystems, assessment of the state of the environment;
- Waste management, including hazardous wastes and toxic substances, waste from shipbuilding and ship repairing as well as shipping;
- Improvement of quality of working and living environment, human development and implementation of programs and projects to protect the environment and sea on national and International level.
Bachelors specialty “Environmental Protection and Sea Preservation Technologies " are trained for successful career as environmentalists in:
- maritime transport and ports;-private and state companies, businesses and public (government and non-governmental ) organizations;
- and other related institutions protect the environment and sea on a regional, national, and global scale;
- operating enterprises and project teams to protect the air, water, soil and ecosystems; purification of water and air, for usage, recycling and disposal of waste - municipal, industrial, from maritime transport, agricultural, hazardous or toxic substances;
- existing nationwide monitoring system.
Graduates students currently receiving successful career as experts in Environmental protection agency, Basin agency, municipal administrations Sea Administration, private companies, Enterprises for Cement and Fertilizers, Thermal Power plants and others.
Mode of study - full-time, by state plan
Entry is based on admission exams:
- exam –test in Mathematics, Physics, test in comprehcive technical experience or
- results from Matura exam in Bulgarian language and Literature, Mathematics or Physics
Duration of study - 4 years.
The course ends with state exam.
