Department THEORY OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND MEASUREMENT



DEPARTMENT STAFF SINCE 1986.

The Department of Theory of Electrical Engineering and Measurement was created in 1963, Assoc. Prof. Krum Asenov Popov being the Head of the Department. Other Heads of the Department were as follows: Assoc. Prof. Dishliev – 1975; Assoc. Prof. PhD Todorovski – 1975-1984; Assoc. Prof. PhD Taushanov – 1984-1985; Assoc. Prof. PhD Ralcheva – 1986-1999; Assoc. Prof. PhD Panov – 1999-2008; Assoc. Prof. PhD Marinov - 2008-2015; Assoc. Prof. PhD Stafunski - 2015-2016 and currently – Ch. assist. prof. Vasileva.
The subjects taught initially by the department staff were - Theoretical Electrical Engineering, Electrical Measurements and Job Safety. Later two directions were formed: Theoretical Electrical Engineering and Electrical Measurements. In 1986 the direction of Electrical Engineering was further differentiated. At present the department has six laboratories designed for the education of the students of all majors at TU-Varna.
The department has established international contacts with different universities. The department has invited as foreign lecturers Prof. DSc Novitzki, Prof. DSc Mathanov, Assoc. Prof. PhD Bushtyan, Prof. Hiroshi Kavakami, Prof. DSc Ishtvan Vago.
In recent years, the department staff has also established contacts for creative cooperation with Prof. Uzunoglu from the National Technical University of Athens, Prof. Bak Andersen from the Aalborg University in Denmark and with Prof. Yamashita from the Tokyo University of Electrical Technologies.
